Ibn Battuta | Dubai | Ibn Battuta Mall

The Ibn Battuta Mall is a large shopping mall on the Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai close to Interchange 6 for Jebel Ali Village. Having more than 270 shops, 50 restaurants, a 21-screen cinema and over 4,500 parking spaces on a total of 521,000 m2 (5,610,000 sq ft), Ibn Battuta is the world's largest themed shopping mall. On May 26, 2013 Nakheel announced the tender for Ibn Battuta Mall expansion – a new, 28,000 m2 (300,000 sq ft) retail hub for another 150 shops.[1]

It consists of six courts, each of whose designs are inspired by some of the countries visited by the Moroccan Berber explorer, Ibn Battuta: Andalusia Court, China Court, Egypt Court, India Court, Persia Court, and Tunisia Court.

Explore the world’s largest themed shopping centre at Ibn Battuta Mall, inspired by the famous explorer of the same name.

Shop your way through 275 retailers across six courts, each reflecting the different regions through which Ibn Battuta travelled – Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India and China.

Plus, you’ll find a Debenhams department store, popular electronics shop Sharaf DG and Paris Gallery for fragrances.

Don’t just visit for the shopping though – the decor is a sight to behold itself.

Persia Court features a magnificent hand painted dome; there are pyramids in the Egypt Court; and a striking lion fountain takes centre stage in Andalusia Court. Tunisia Court offers up ancient stucco facades; China Court reflects the perils of Ibn Battuta’s visit with pirates and sunken ships, while the top of every hour in India Court is celebrated with dragons, phoenixes and wooden figures.

It’s shopping and entertainment all rolled into one, topped off with more than 50 dining options.

For some down time, choose from 21 cinema screens, including an IMAX theatre, to catch a latest release film.
