Share of IT goods among S. Korean exports fall to lowest level in 7 years

The portion of IT products among South Korea's exports has dropped to a seven-year low,... due to a decline in memory chip demand.
According to the Korea International Trade Association,... the country exported 90-point-seven billion dollars' worth of IT goods from January to September this year.
The figure accounted for 22-point-three percent of all outbound shipments,... the lowest share seen since 2012,... attributed to falling semiconductor prices.
Meanwhile, the chemical sector and heavy industries such as shipbuilding and machinery,... saw exports increase compared to last year.
IT exports could pick up from the fourth quarter of this year,... with industry experts expecting oversupply problems in the chip market to ease.
