Facebook Is Launching
a News Section.
The “alpha” launch is
set to roll out Friday to a couple
hundred thousand U.S. users.
The move follows attacks from News Corps CEO Robert Thomson and his boss, founder Robert Murdoch, on Mark Zuckerberg to pay publishers for their stories. .
Facebook will be shelling out
as much as $3 million to some
partners, while others will receive
traffic and potential subscribers.
Users will be able to access news
stories for free from partners like
'The Wall Street Journal,'
'Washington Post' and Buzzfeed.
The new feature will get a wider
release in the coming months
