The 46-year-old man was charged for drinking and driving in 2014. His breathalyzer test showed that he had consumed five times over the limit of alcohol allowed for driving. The problems started when he continuously stated that he had not consumed any intoxicating substances, but neither the police nor his family believed him. After years of to-and-fro, the unidentified man was diagnosed with a rare disease called the Auto-Brewery Syndrome (ABS). This happened in 2017, when the man started seeing a specialist at Richmond University Medical Centre in New York.
