Mazda Global Tech Forum 2019, Oslo - Mazda e-TPV Design
  • 4 years ago
From August 26 to September 3, 2019, around 40 international media, including 18 from Europe, participated in the Mazda Global Tech Forum in Oslo. In addition to an update on the company's Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030 development program, Mazda's first electric vehicle was at the center of the event.

The forum was hosted by senior engineers and senior executives from Mazda Motor Corporation and included a test drive in a fully electric prototype in the body of the recently introduced Mazda CX-30. The world premiere of Mazda's first all-electric battery-powered vehicle in a completely new model will take place at the Tokyo Motor Show on October 23, 2019.

Mazda will initially introduce two variants of a new battery-electric vehicle. One variant is powered solely by electric battery, the other combines the battery with a small, light and exceptionally quiet Mazda rotary engine, which serves as a range extender. The range extender charges the vehicle battery when needed, eliminating the concerns of many customers about the limited range of electric vehicles.
