Car with five passengers sent flying in crash by petrol station in central India

A car travelling at high speed on an Indian highway was sent flying through the air in a major accident caught on a petrol station CCTV.

The incident took place near the city of Narmada, Gujarat state on October 15 at around 2:00pm. The car was driving at full speed on the highway, when the driver lost control and struck the divider of a petrol station and was launched into the air.

There was a family of five from the neighbouring state of Maharashtra in the car, who were on their way to see the famed Statue of Unity in Gujarat.

There were two men, two women and a ten-year-old girl in the car, all of whom were injured but none died.

One man and one woman suffered severe injuries. All the passengers are still under treatment at Baroda hospital.
