Jimmy Carter Hospitalized
After Falling and Fracturing Pelvis .
According to The Carter Center,
the former U.S. president fell down
at his Georgia home Monday night.
[Carter] has been admitted to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center for observation and treatment of a minor pelvic fracture, The Carter Center, via statement.
He is in good spirits and is looking forward to recovering at home, The Carter Center, via statement.
This isn't the first
time Carter has injured
himself by falling down.
Last May,
he fell and
broke his hip.
He also previously hit his forehead on a sharp object,
which required 14 stitches, but he still attended a
Habitat for Humanity rally in Tennessee afterwards.
I fell down and hit my forehead on a sharp edge and had to go to the hospital. And they took 14 stitches in my forehead and my eye is black, as you've noticed. But I had a No. 1 priority and that was to come to Nashville and
build houses, Jimmy Carter, via CNN.
Despite all of his falls — and also being
a cancer survivor — Carter, 95, remains
the longest-lived U.S. president
