'Mrs. Doubtfire' to Reach Broadway in Spring 2020. The musical is based off the hit 1993 comedy starring the late Robin Williams. Tony-winner Jerry Zaks is on board to direct the show, which will premiere at N.Y.C.'s Stephen Sondheim Theatre. The role of Daniel Hillard will be portrayed by Tony nominee Rob McClure. The plot sees Hillard disguise himself as a Scottish nanny to spend time with his kids while going through a divorce. Before hitting New York City, the musical will show at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre starting on November 26. During its big screen run, 'Mrs. Doubtfire' earned over $440 million globally on a $25 million budget. It has been praised as one of the funniest movies of the past few decades
