Lebron gets destroyed for his first 'misinformed' comments on China
  • 5 years ago
LOS ANGELES — LeBron James spoke Monday night for the first time about China's temper tantrum over Rocket GM Daryl Morey's Hong Kong tweet, unfortunately he decided to blast Morey and side with the authoritarian dictatorship in Beijing instead.
With one pre-game press conference at Staples Center, James' carefully crafted public image went down the toilet in the blink of an eye.
According to For the Win, Lebron said he wasn't educated enough about the Hong Kong protests to talk about it when the Lakers were in China.

And then King James—sorry, Emperor James—opened his trap and delivered this hot mess:
"We all talk about freedom of speech — yets, we do have freedom of speech. But at times, there are ramifications for the negative that can happen when you're not thinking about others and you're only thinking about yourself. I don't believe — I don't want to get into a … feud with Daryl Morey but I believe he wasn't educated on the situation at hand. And he spoke. And so many people could have been harmed, not only financially but emotionally, physically and spiritually."
What LeBron was trying to say was that all he cares about is money, while throwing everything we hold dear in the country under the bus.
James went on, "so just be careful with what we tweet and what we say and what we do, even though, yes, we do have freedom of speech, but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that, too."
Oh the irony.
LeBron's bootlicking comments received instant blowback, which caused him to then have to jump on Twitter and try to explain his panda hugging comments.
Apparently a great receding hairline, also comes great receding responsibility.
Maybe it's time for LeBron to pack it up and move over to Beijing where they really get to enjoy the freedoms of speech and are really into "education."
