Impatient Thai motorcyclist clotheslined by level crossing barrier

An impatient motorcyclist tries to dodge a level crossing - only to be clotheslined by the barrier in Bangkok, Thailand on October 11.

The rider approached the train tracks as a passenger locomotive rattled. Rather than wait, he tried to ride through the warning lights and siren without noticing the metal bar directly in front of him.

Trainspotter Parinya Chukaew captured the moment the man rode straight into the metal barrier and was clotheslined, jolting his head backwards.

However, even that injury did not deter the motorcyclist and he continued forwards to ride across the tracks by scooting farther down the line for a clear passage.

Parinya said: ''I work at the university near here so I often like to watch the trains when they go by. I've never seen anybody do this before.

''The motorcyclist looked like he was watching the train and didn't see the barrier until it hit him in the face.

''I hope that next time he is more careful because he could have a serious accident.''
