Issa Rae Lends Her Voice
to Google Assistant.
Google recently announced the addition of actress Issa Rae
to their Google Assistant software for a limited time. .
In order to switch to Rae’s
voice, users in the United
States simply have to say,
“Hey Google, talk like Issa.”.
According to Rae, working with
Google was an “organic process.”.
I was in talks to do this last year and was just
really intrigued, like, 'What? They want my
voice? Why?' … Then, you know, I realized that
I use Google Assistant frequently anyway and
just thought about how cool it would be to do, Issa Rae, via CNN.
Rae reportedly spent many hours in the
studio recording various phrases and
words, a process she called “challenging.”.
I'm just so used to reading them. So you're
like, 'Oh, I've never actually had to say this
word out loud.’ … It was unique. I'd never
done anything like that before, Issa Rae, via CNN.
Rae is the second celebrity voice to be featured on
Google’s artificial intelligence-powered software.
John Legend previously made a cameo
on Google Assistant in April 2019.
