Man wears 35kg plastic rubbish vest to raise littering awareness in south India

To raise awareness against public littering in south India, an environmentalist named Deepak Varma walked 100km in 24 hours while wearing a full-length robe made from plastic garbage.

Varma marched through Kerala’s Palakkad district in his 35kg robe made from crisp packets, shampoo bottles and plastic containers, among 1400 other plastic items.

He started his walk along with two volunteers on October 1 from Victoria College Palakkad and finished the walk at Ernakulam Darbar Hall grounds October 2.

Deepak who hails from Palakkad walked more than 100 kilometres in 24 hours, holding a placard that read: “Don't throw waste in public places."
