Aarey Forest protest: Police detains Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi

After the Bombay High Court has dismissed all petitions against Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) decision which allowed felling of more than 2700 trees there, for metro car shed, Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi was detained by police following protests in Aarey Forest. Meanwhile, the entry into forest from Marol Maroshi Road has been restricted after Section 144 was imposed in the affected area in Mumbai. Section 144 is imposed after several people were gathered at Aarey Forest to protest against felling of trees. Trees felling started at Aarey after Bombay HC junked the PILs.
