An interesting incident came to light after Gandhi ji came out of Agra Khan Palace. One day Manu noticed that Bapu's sandal was broken. Manu gave it to a cobbler to fix it. When Bapu did not see the sandal, he questioned Manu, then the whole truth came out. Bapu was worried about how he would give wages to Mochi? Neither he earns nor manu. So he asked Mochi to teach him how to fix slippers.
एक दिलचस्प वाकया गांधी जी के आग़ा ख़ान पैलेस से छूटकर बाहर आने के बाद सामने आया था। एक दिन मनु ने देखा कि बापू की चप्पल टूट गई थी। मनु ने उसे ठीक करने के लिए एक मोची को दे दिया। बापू ने जब चप्पल नहीं देखी तो उन्होंने मनु से सवाल किया तो सारा सच सामने आ गया। बापू को चिंता थी कि मोची को मजदूरी कैसे देंगे? ना वो कमाते हैं और ना मनु। लिहाजा उन्होंने मोची से चप्पल ठीक करना सिखाने को कहा।
