Another suspected case of African swine fever has been reported,... this time in a pig farm in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do Province.
According to the Agriculture ministry, emergency quarantine measures are being carried out in the area and sample tests will be held for further investigation.
If confirmed, it will be the tenth case nationwide, and the first outbreak in a region south past the perimeter of the capital area.
Meanwhile, a suspected case reported on Sunday has turned out to be a false alarm.
Nineteen pigs were found dead at a slaughterhouse in Hongseong, Chungcheongnam-do Province,… but autopsy showed they died from suffocation due to overcrowding conditions.
