SALEM, NEW JERSEY — A New Jersey clerk has been arrested for making a suspected shoplifter strip at fake gunpoint.

WPVI reports that the incident happened Monday night at a Sunoco Gas Station in Salem. According to store personnel, clerk Amit Saraswat had spotted a man he believed had stolen from the store over the past few days.

Usually, you call the cops and get to the bottom of it, but Captain Justice had other ideas, and instead took out a gun.

Surveillance video shows him aiming the firearm at the suspected pilferer from behind the counter and then forcing him to strip all the way down to his birthday suit.

The nekkid man left the store but came back later after realizing the weapon wasn't real. Investigators later said it was an Airsoft gun.
WCAU reports that after the incident was reported to police, they came and arrested Saraswat.

He's been charged with aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm for unlawful purpose and terroristic threats.

Meanwhile, the customer he branded as a shoplifter hasn't been charged, and no one knows if he even actually stole anything from the store.
