Rival parties to question gov't officials on Moon administration's economic policies
  • 5 years ago
Lawmakers at South Korea's National Assembly will hold their third Q&A session with senior government officials this afternoon with the focus on the economy.
Rival parties are expected to grill top government officials on the Moon Jae-in administration's economic policies especially on the results of his income-led growth policy.
Lawmakers are expected to slam officials over slowing economic indicators, especially on the trade front, which was hit hard by Japan's recent trade curbs and the trade spat between Washington and Beijing.
Another potential flare up will be the on-going probe surrounding newly-appointed justice minister Cho Kuk and his family, who has been accused of making dubious investments in a private equity fund.
