The Kerala High Court on Thursday termed the use of internet as a 'fundamental right'. The court while delivering the historic verdict said that the use of internet is part of the right to education and right to privacy as provided under the constitution. . The Kerala High Court pronounced this decision on a petition that was filed by a student protesting against the ban on the use of mobile phones of girls in girls hostels.

केरल हाई कोर्ट ने गुरुवार को इंटरनेट के इस्तेमाल को ‘मौलिक अधिकार’ करार दिया। कोर्ट ने ऐतिहासिक फैसला सुनाते हुए कहा कि इंटरनेट का इस्तेमाल संविधान के तहत दिए गए शिक्षा के अधिकार और निजता के अधिकार का ही भाग है। . केरल हाईकोर्ट ने यह फैसला उस याचिका पर सुनाया जिसे एक छात्रा ने गर्ल्स हॉस्टल में लड़कियों के मोबाइल फोन के इस्तेमाल पर रोक लगने के विरोध में दाखिल किया था.
