YouTube Creators May Lose Verification Badges Following Heightened Criteria

The shift stems from YouTube's desire
to prioritize authenticity and prominence.

The website currently allows
anyone with more than
100,000 subscribers to be verified.
Channels that do not meet
the new requirements will
receive notice and have the
chance to appeal the decision.
Many creators are upset by the
changes, as verification impacts
what appears first when viewers
search on YouTube. .
YouTube stars such as David Dobrik,
PewDiePie and Karlie Kloss are at
risk of losing their verification.
The new verification program
kicks off in October.
