S. Korean FM reaffirms alliance with Washington on visit to U.S. bases

South Korea's foreign minister Kang Kyung-wha toured two U.S. military bases in South Korea today Camp Humphreys and Osan Airbase... and met with U.S Forces Korea Commander Robert Abrams.
She was accompanied by the U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, Harry Harris.
The foreign ministry said the tour was part of efforts to reaffirm the two countries' alliance.
There had been concerns relations had been damaged when Seoul refused Washington's call for a military intel-sharing pact with Japan... to be renewed.
Kang also emphasized the need for close coordination for peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula... during a luncheon held with 20 air force personnel from the two countries.
