Are Malaysia’s undocumented foreign workers being sent back home for good?

The Malaysian government has created a new programme that promises to allow undocumented workers to return to their home countries without fear of prosecution. Often from Indonesia, Bangladesh and Myanmar, many have expired or invalid work visas that place them at risk of being exploited by employers.  Thousands have reportedly already signed up for the “Back for Good” scheme, which will be open until the end of 2019.
