Juul Accused of Illegal
Marketing Practices by FDA The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
accused the popular vape company of promoting
its vaping products as safer than cigarettes. In a warning letter issued to Juul,
the FDA ordered the company to
take action and amend its marketing. Ned Sharpless, Acting FDA Commissioner, via CNBC Juul is also accused of advertising their products as
"modified risk tobacco products" without ever
having received FDA regulatory approval. In addition, Juul is reportedly
being investigated by the Federal
Trade Commission and several
states attorneys general. A spokesman for the company
said it was “reviewing the [FDA]
letters and will fully cooperate.”
