An apparent oil spill has been spotted in the ocean in the Bahamas yesterday (September 5).

Footage shows streaks of oil in the glowing blue sea between the islands of Great Abaco and Nassau.

The filmer wrote online: "While flying from Nassau to Treasure Cay Airport in Abaco at 5:30pm on Thur Sept 5th after Hurricane Dorian hit. A very large apparent oil slick was noticed on the water west of Abaco."

Norwegian energy firm Equinor said on Thursday that it had discovered an oil spill at its storage terminal in its South Riding Point facility in the aftermath of hurricane Dorian. That statement said: "At this point there are no observations of any oil spill at sea."
