Royal Caribbean to Deploy Fleet
of Cruise Ships to Aid the Bahamas.
Royal Caribbean International recently announced their
partnership with the Pan American Development Foundation
(PADF) to assist in relief efforts following Hurricane Dorian. .
The Bahamas has always been more than
a destination for Royal Caribbean and our
guests…The Bahamas is also home to more
than 500 of our colleagues…So in the
aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, we’re rolling
up our sleeves to help our friends…, Royal Caribbean, via statement.
Just as they did for Hurricane Maria in 2017, the
cruise line intends to stock a portion of their ships
with supplies to be delivered directly to the Bahamas. .
These goods will include items such as
cleaning supplies, generators and clean water.
They’ve also deployed their trained employee
volunteers, known as the “GO Team,”
to give on-the-ground assistance.
In addition, Royal Caribbean has pledged to
donate $1 million and is currently coordinating
with the local government to distribute it. .
They also plan to match every donation,
up to a total of $500,000, that is made to
PADF for relief efforts in the Bahamas.
