MANILA, Philippines - The government has identified possible solutions to the legal hurdles delaying the P18 billion connector road project of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. This will be presented to President Aquino as early as this week. Transportation Secretary Jun Abaya said he hopes the legal solution to the proposed toll road, which will connect North Luzon Expressway and South Luzon Expressway, will immediately be resolved. Malacanang ordered Abaya to address issues whether the connector road would be built under the Philippine National Construction Corp. or would be subjected to a Swiss challenge. The project involves the construction of a four-lane elevated expressway over the Philippine National Railway right of way, which starts in Caloocan City and ends in Buendia, Makati. The project aims to decongest traffic in Metro Manila. - ANC
