PNoy defends gov't handling of crimes, price hikes
  • 5 years ago
President Aquino addressed two gut issues facing Filipinos: the price spike in rice and higher crime incidents. Speaking to reporters in Japan, Aquino said the majority of Filipinos has been spared from the effects of high prices of rice. He noted that price increases affect only well-milled rice and not the rice sold by the National Food Authority (NFA) to the masses. Meanwhile, the President cut the Philippine National Police (PNP) some slack over the reports of rising crime incidents in the country. He explained the higher crime rate now, saying crime statistics are just being reported more accurately now. ANC Dateline Philippines, June 25, 2014
