Revilla camp seeks to stop issuance of arrest warrant

MANILA, Philippines – Senator Jinggoy Estrada has accused the Aquino administration of rushing the plunder case against him, in time for the President’s State of the Nation Address. Meantime, Senator Bong Revilla’s camp submitted motions before the Sandiganbayan on Saturday. Lawyer Joel Bodegon says the plunder complaint has no bearing and has asked the court for a suspension of the proceedings. The second motion, according to Bodegon, is a request for a judicial determination on the possibility of issuing a warrant of arrest against the Senator for the plunder case. -- News Now, ANC, June 8, 2014.
