MANILA - A woman's rights group condemns the sudden transfer of alleged New People's Army rebel Andrea Rosal to Camp Bagong Diwa Wednesday. Gabriela claims the daughter of NPA spokesperson Ka Roger Rosal was discharged Wednesday afternoon and transferred from Philippine General Hospital to Taguig. Andrea had been confined there since May 18 after giving birth to a girl. The baby later died due to complications from persistent pulmonary hypertension. Gabriela says one of Andrea's companions was shown the court order for her transfer but they were not able to read it well. The group adds the cellphones of Andrea and companions were confiscated so they could not call their lawyer. There has been no response from the Armed Forces or Bureau of Jail Management and Penology on Andrea's transfer. Andrea was arrested on kidnapping, murder and attempted homicide charges.
