MANILA - Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Siegfred Mison said the agency will not tolerate abusive acts among its ranks following a brawl between an employee and a female Chinese national at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. Speaking to radio dzMM on Wednesday, Mison said BI employee Rashid Rangiris has been placed on preventive suspension after he was caught on video hitting and slapping Jiang Huixiang, who was denied entry into the country. Mison said Rangiris may have just retaliated at Jiang after the latter hit and kicked him. "Talagang hindi lang po magawan ng paraan para kumalma dahil hindi po niya (Jiang) ma-accept na hindi po namin siya pwedeng papasukin sa bansa dahil meron po siyang immigration violation," he said. But still, Rangiris should not have exchanged blows with Jiang, Mison said. "Hindi kami dapat nananakit ng pasahero." Mison said airport supervisors are now recommending the use of handcuffs on unruly passengers to prevent any similar incident. Radio dzMM, May 7, 2014
