Palarong Pambansa opens in Laguna

MANILA, Philippines – The opening ceremony of the Palarong Pambansa is underway in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, where thousands of student-athletes from 18 regions will slug it out in the biggest sporting event in the country. Some sports stars are also gracing the event, including boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, Olympic skater Michael Martinez, and PBA star James Yap. A handful of events already kicked off before the opening, among them – basketball, volleyball, arnis, football, and track events.
