Australia’s Great Barrier Reef outlook drops to ‘very poor’ amid climate change threat

The outlook for Australia’s Great Barrier Reef has been downgraded from “poor” to “very poor”, the lowest possible level.  The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority released the ranking on August 30, 2019. The researchers cited concerns such as rising sea temperatures driven by global warming that have caused major coral bleaching in the Unesco World Heritage Site.
