With No More Immunity, Kalyan Singh May Face Trial in Babri Demolition Case
Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh may now face trial in the Babri Masjid demolition case. Until recently, he was protected by legal immunity from trial, as he was the governor of Rajasthan. His term as governor has ended and the government has not announced another gubernatorial position for him. With no constitutional position, he no longer has legal immunity.
