Watson lands second Masters title

Bubba Watson withstood an inspired early challenge from his playing partner to clinch the Masters for a second time in three years with a three-shot victory at Augusta National. Watson was trailing fellow American Jordan Spieth by two strokes after four holes, but took advantage of Spieth’s stumbling run and maintained control on the back nine. Watson, who had landed his first major title with a thrilling playoff win in 2012, mixed five birdies with two bogeys to card a three-under-par 69. The 20-year-old Spieth had to settle for a share of second place, signing off with a 72, tied with Swede Jonas Blixt. -- Mornings @ ANC, April 14, 2014.
