Van Gaal eyed to take over at Man United

David Moyes has left Manchester United after a hugely disappointing season as manager. Moyes, who turns 51 on Friday, was appointed at the recommendation of fellow Scot Alex Ferguson, who retired at the end of last season after 26 years on the job. Veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs has been put in charge for the final four games of the season. Meanwhile, according to media reports, United has courted Dutchman Louis Van Gaal, who will quit as coach of the Netherlands after the World Cup in Brazil in June and July. The new manager needs to undertake a major rebuilding job at the club as they need to replace a large number of aging players. -- Mornings @ ANC, April 23, 2014.
