MANILA – A Wisconsin-based Filipino-American woman is appealing to the public to help her find her Filipino father whom she had not seen since birth. "I've never spoken to him and I've never seen him. I've never seen any pictures (of him) and I have no idea what he looks like," said Christina Daronco during a Skype interview on Thursday with DZMM's Aksyon Ngayon with Julius Babao and Kaye Dacer. Daronco wrote to DZMM to help her locate her father whom she identified as a certain First Mate Alberto Salazar. She said her mother met her father on two different periods in 1984 when his ship came to Duluth in Minnesota. "Unfortunately, my mother doesn't remember very much," she said. Daronco was born on February 16 of the following year. "When my parents met, my mother was 21 and she thinks he was between 15 and 20 years her senior," she said. Her father also revealed to her mother that he had a daughter back in the Philippines. She added that her mother had told her that her father was much taller than her. Her mother stands at 5'8" tall. "I don't know what he looks like but she described him to me as tall and very handsome," she said. Daronco hopes that Salazar or any member of his family would get in touch with her. She gave a message to her father: "I wanted to find you because I would like to meet you. I'd like to know my family, like where they come from... And, if you ever want to be a part of my life, I would welcome you to my life." Those who may have information about Daronco's father can get in touch with her at cdaronco05@yahoo.com.
