Sacks of rice for 'Yolanda' victims end up at an eatery

Authorities discovered that some sacks of rice intended for survivors of typhoon "Yolanda" are being sold in eateries in Tacloban City. In one establishment, police discovered 17 sacks of rice being used for commercial purposes. Social Welfare secretary Dinky Soliman said charges will be filed today against the owner of the eatery who bought rice intended for relief operations in Tacloban. Among the charges to be filed are violation of the Anti-Fencing Law and engaging in fraudulent activities. Soliman said authorities are investigating the incident and urged the eatery owner to reveal who sold her the rice. - ANC Headstart, 7 April 2014
