Erap wants oil depot out of Pandacan by Jan 2016

After trucks and buses, Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada now wants banish an oil depot from his city. Citing safety reasons, Estrada issued an ordinance on Wednesday directing Shell, Petron and Chevron to leave Pandacan by January 2016. Petron says it is ready to relocate its operations, while Chevron says it is optimistic a win-win solution can be reached. This isn't the first time a call was made to relocate the oil depot. A similar ordinance was handed down in 2001 and upheld by the Supreme Court in 2008. The Pandacan oil depot supplies more than half of the country's fuel requirements. - ANC
