MANILA – Singer-actor Lance Raymundo underwent a successful operation on Tuesday to restore his face, which was crushed in a gym accident. According to DZMM anchor Ahwel Paz, Raymundo now has a titanium implant for his nose and a nylon implant for his eyeball. Citing statements from Raymundo’s doctors and family, Paz said the actor-singer will undergo another operation next month, depending on the rate of his recovery. Part of Raymundo’s face was crushed after an 80-pound barbell accidentally fell on his face. In a previous interview with The Philippine Star, the actor-singer said the incident “was nobody’s fault.” [ADD LINK TO “SAID” -- http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/entertainment/03/25/14/lance-raymundo-speaks-after-gym-accident] Despite what happened, Raymundo is grateful to be alive. “Had the barbell fell an inch higher, I would have been a goner. Or if it fell four inches lower, it would have struck my neck and the result would have been fatal just the same,” he said.
