MANILA – Seven people were arrested during a raid at an English tutorial school in Lingayen, Pangasinan, which was found to be used as a front for online prostitution. Senior Superintendent Roberto Fajardo, chief of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – National Capital Region, said seven people, including three Japanese nationals, were arrested at the online tutorial school along Avenida Street in Barangay Poblacion. Fajardo said some 100 employees involved in the illegal operations claiming to be online English tutors were rescued. "Base ito sa mga witness. Nag come-up tayo sa search warrant. Ang cover nila ay iyung pagiging teacher pero hindi kapani-paniwala. Ganito ang set-up nila, may kwarto pa na may kama at computer," Fajardo said. CIDG operatives confiscated some 100 computer units from the school to search for more evidence on the alleged cybersex operations. "May business permit sila pero we have to verify pa kung legal. Lahat ng evidence dadaan pa sa forensic test," Fajardo said. The suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act 10364 or Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012. – report from Melanie Heng, ABS-CBN News North Central Luzon
