Backers say Delfin Lee 'created a virtual paradise'

MANILA - Supporters of businessman Delfin Lee trooped to the Court of Appeals on Wednesday to show their support to the owner of Globe Asiatique. Property owners from Xevera Mabacalat and Xevera Bacolor, both housing projects of Globe Asiatique, said the media has been biased in the coverage of the Delfin Lee case. They said media only interviewed those who have problems with their property titles. "They said they came on their own volition and paid for their own transportation just to be able to give their support to Delfin Lee who they say created a veritable paradise for them in the various development projects in Pampanga," a report by Chiara Zambrano said. Lee is accused of using ghost borrowers and fake documents to obtain P6.65 billion in loans from Pag-Ibig Fund in 2009. He was arrested by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in a hotel in Manila on Thursday night. Mornings@ANC, March 12, 2014
