Curfew imposed in Mandaluyong

At least seven minors were rounded up in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday evening as the city began imposing curfew. Under the ordinance, parents of the accosted minors will also be invited to the police station. Curfew begins at 10 p.m. and ends at 4 a.m. the following day. The ordinance also states that criminal liability shall be imposed to any parent who improperly exploits the child by using him, directly or indirectly, for activities such as begging; permits the child to possess, handle or carry a deadly weapon, regardless of its ownership; permits the child to possess or use narcotics drugs and engage in gambling and other vices; allows or requires a minor to drive. - Umagang Kay Ganda, 27 February 2014
