MANILA, Philippines – The first game of the Azkals under new coach Thomas Dooley ended in a draw as the Philippines and Malaysia failed to come up with a goal in their friendly match in Kuala Lumpur. The game featured some of the Azkals’ new members, including new goal-keeper Patrick Deyto, and the return of midfielder Mark Hartmann to the line-up. Azkals star James Younghusband had a good outing during the match, nearly scoring in the early minutes and again later in the game. The match served as training for the Azkals for the AFC Challenge Cup in Maldives in May. They next face Azerbaijan in another friendly on Wednesday. News Now, ANC, March 2, 2014.
