2 tanods hurt in Mandaluyong grenade blast

MANILA – Two village watchmen were wounded after a group of unidentified men threw a grenade at them before dawn in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday. One of three men on board 2 motorcycles hurled a grenade at Bantay Bayan Foundation volunteers Tirso Geronimo and Ronald Tiangco who were seated at the outpost of Barangay Mauway at around 1:30 a.m. Geronimo sustained wounds to his side, while Tiangco was wounded in the leg. Both are now safe. The suspects fled towards Barangay Addition Hills after the attack. Police investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the attack. – report from Zandro Ochona, dzMM
