Baguio vendors to appeal ban on sale of fireworks

Vendors are set to appeal the ban on sale of fireworks in Baguio City. Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan prohibited the sale of fireworks and firecrackers in the city. He explained that this policy aims to prevent injuries connected to firecrackers. According to reports from the Department of Health (DOH), there were 15 cases of firecracker-related injuries in Baguio City last year. Affected vendors said they will personally make an appeal to the mayor, asking him to allow the sale of aerial products and other safe fireworks like fountains even just on December 30 and 31. - Umagang Kay Ganda, 26 December 2013
