U.S. starts preparing for tough World Cup draw

MANILA, Philippines – The convoluted draw for next year’s World Cup finals in Brazil produced a set of group in which most of football’s big guns can already imagine their chances in the knockout stages. One of them is Argentina in Group F, where they were pooled together with Nigeria, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina. That’s a dream start to Argentina’s World Cup adventure, though they are cautious about Nigeria, which gave them a tough time in the past. Meanwhile, the United States team members admit their difficult task after a World Cup draw that put them in the so-called “Group of Death.” The U.S. will face elite opponents – Germany, Ghana, and Portugal – at the start of the tournament in difficult Group G. Despite the tough draw, team members are happy that they can now begin to prepare for next summer’s matches. News Now, ANC, December 8, 2013.
