Bordering on rudeness: Palace hits conduct of HK journos
  • 5 years ago
MANILA - Malacañang on Monday said the conduct displaced by several Hong Kong journalists during the APEC Summit bordered on rudeness. This, after organizers of the APEC Summit in Indonesia kicked out several Hong Kong journalists from the APEC summit for shouting at President Aquino as he was talking to the president of Peru as they were entering one of the summit venues. The journalists were demanding that Aquino answer questions on the Manila hostage-taking in 2010 where 8 Hong Kong tourists were killed. Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said APEC organizers felt their visitor was disrespected and decided to revoke the accreditation of the journalists. "It was bordering on rudeness. We Filipinos don't do that - that we shout questions. We observe protocol. We observe proper way of interviewing any person especially heads of state," he said. ANC NEWS NOW, October 7, 2013
