MANILA - Gumaca, Quezon Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 61 Judge Maria Chona Pulgar-Navarro has ordered on Friday the arrest of 13 policemen, led by Supt Hansel Marantan, charged for the bloody Atimonan shooting incident in January. No bail was recommended. Multiple murder charges were filed by the Dept of Justice (DOJ) against the policemen on Thursday, after it affirmed the findings of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that the joint checkpoint operation last January 6 was a rubout, and not a shootout as claimed by Marantan's group. The incident left 13 people, on board 2 SUVs, dead.
