PAGASA expects severe flooding

MANILA - State weather bureau PAGASA on Tuesday raised the red rainfall alert in the National Capital Region and other parts of Luzon due to heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon. "Heavy to torrential rains is affecting Metro Manila, Rizal, Laguna, Bulacan, Zambales, Cavite, Bataan, Pampanga and Occidental Mindoro. Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains is affecting Batangas, Laguna and Quezon and most likely to continue for the next 3hrs," PAGASA said. "SEVERE FLOODING is expected. ALL are advised to take precautionary measure and watch for the next advisory," it added. PAGASA weather forecaster Connie Rose Dadivas said tropical storm Maring is forecast to be out of the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.
