One-handed player gets offer from university

MANILA – It’s a story that is hard to believe, but a one-handed basketball player in Georgia is better than most two-handed players his age. In fact, Zach Hodskins is so good that the University of Florida has offered him a spot on the team as a walk-on next year. The high school senior was born without his left hand and lower arm, yet he’s one of Milton High School’s best players. Zach says the offer from the Gators is a dream come true, and his high school coach said he won’t be surprised if the player manages to earn a scholarship in Florida. -- Mornings @ ANC, August 21, 2013
