5 Billion Discs Have
Been Sent Out by Netflix.
The milestone comes 21 years after
the streamer began delivering media
in red envelopes to subscribers.

Netflix's physical media numbers have
shrunk considerably since 2011 when over
14 million were getting discs in the mail.
As of 2019's Q2, there are just
2.4 million using the service.
Despite the huge drop, DVDs are
still netting the streaming service
$46 million in quarterly profits.
Netflix's spends more on developing original content and over 150 million users are now streaming.
But with the new achievement, it appears that
the company's DVD delivery department
is doing enough to stay around
